How to play I spy with young kids
Point to the first picture in the row at the bottom and ask the child to find every one on the page. They can circle each one with a crayon as they count, then write or copy the number in the box. Children who cannot write numbers yet can draw the same number of dots. Each page takes 5 to 10 minutes.
For the hours before midnight
New Year's Eve is a long evening for little ones. An I spy page and a few crayons keep them busy while the adults talk, and the memory game works for two to four children. Printed on card stock, the memory cards last for more than one round.
