How to do baby shower predictions

8 questions for the card and how to pick a winner. Made by Lumineus Studio.

Baby predictions are the quietest game at a shower and often the one the parents keep. Each guest fills in a card with their guesses about the baby. The parents seal the cards and open them after the birth to see who came closest.

The 8 questions to put on the card

Leave the baby's name off the card if the parents are keeping it a secret, and skip the sex question if they are waiting to find out.

How to run it at the shower

1. Hand out cards as guests arrive. Leave a basket of cards and pens near the door or the gift table, so guests can fill them in while others arrive.

2. Collect the cards in an envelope or a box. Write the guest's name on each card so you can find the winner later.

3. Open them after the birth. Give a point for each answer that matches, or a point for the closest guess on date, time, weight and length. The guest with the most points wins a small prize, mailed or saved for the first visit.

Keepsake idea

Pair the predictions with an advice card for the parents and a wishes card for the baby. Keep all three in the baby book; years later they are fun to read again.
